Power Range Technology
The integrated Power Range Technology allows you to measure long distances very simply. Measure up to 100 m without a target plate, and even up to 200 m using a target plate, without having to take a single step.
Spot-on measurement
The laser makes it possible! The laser dot is clearly visible, therefore you always know exactly where you are measuring, which is especially useful in difficult to access places. So you can take absolutely precise measurements, even over long distances.

Target Plate
-> in order to have best results with the direct horizontal distance measurements, considering the deviation of the tilt sensor, use the Leica DISTO D5 as flat as possible. The horizontal distance error (fd) and the height error (fh) can be calculated as follows: fd = horizontal distance error fd = d * cos (a) – d * cos (a + fa) Further information and a table of measuring accuracies you can find online in the FAQ under 'Measuring Accuracy'.
-> If you want to set the offset value back to zero, enter the menu point 'Offset' and press the 'Clear/Off' key.
