When you install an Adobe product on Windows, you receive the following error message:

Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the installer is unable to access the necessary files from the DVD/CD-ROM drive. These errors can also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation, or if the installation files are compressed. Content feedback is currently offline for maintenance. Please try again in a few minutes.

“Error [1311, 1335, or 2350]. Source file not found: [drive]:[product name][product version]data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.”

Errors 1311, 1335, and 2350 occur when the installer is unable to access the necessary files from the DVD/CD-ROM drive. These errors can also occur if antivirus software interferes with an installation, or if the installation files are compressed.

  1. Make sure that the DVD or CD-ROM from which you are installing is free of dirt and debris. If necessary, clean the DVD/CD-ROM with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  2. Ensure that the installation disc is inserted into the drive letter identified in the error message.

Note: Many computers have more than one DVD/CD-ROM drive.

Solution 2: Temporarily disable antivirus software, and then install the product.

For instructions, see the documentation for the antivirus software or contact the manufacturer.

Solution 3: Install the product from the desktop.

  • CS3: Follow the instructions in Install Adobe Creative Suite 3 from the desktop (Windows XP and Windows Vista) (kb400609).
  • CS4: Follow the instructions in Install Adobe Creative Suite 4 or point products from the desktop (Windows XP and Windows Vista) (kb403963).
  • PSE:
  1. Insert the Photoshop Elements install disc into the DVD/CD-ROM drive.
  2. Open My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista).
  3. Right-click the drive with the Photoshop Elements install disc in it, then choose Explore.
  4. Copy the Adobe Photoshop Elements folder into the folder you created on the desktop in Step 1.
  5. When the files finish copying, eject the Photoshop Elements install disc.
  6. Open the folder you created in Step 1, open the Adobe Photoshop Elements folder, and double-click Setup.exe to start the installation.
  7. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Solution 4: Remove the DVD/CD-ROM drive, let Windows redetect it, and then install the product.

Note: Adobe doesn’t support hardware and provides these steps as a courtesy only. Removing and reinstalling hardware drivers can resolve corrupt drive-related issues.

  1. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
  2. Right-click each device listed under DVD/CD-ROM Drives and choose Uninstall. Click OK to confirm.
  3. After Windows redetects the DVD/CD-ROM drives, insert the product install disc into the DVD/CD-ROM drive and install the product.

Solution 5: Extract the file and run the installer again.

Error 1335 Windows 10 Windows 10

Adobe installers are not designed to install from a compressed file. If you are trying to install the application from a zipped or archived file, then extract the file before you install. For instructions on extracting files from an archive, see the extractor application Help.

Solution 6: (CS4) Reinstall Microsoft Windows Installer 3.1 or 4.x.

  1. Download and install the Microsoft Windows Installer Redistributable pack.
  1. Right-click Command Prompt and choose Run As Administrator.
  2. In the Command Prompt window, type sfc /SCANNOW and press Enter.
  3. When the system scan completes, type msiexec /unreg in the Command Prompt window, and press Enter.
  4. Type msiexec /regserver into the Command Prompt window, and press Enter.
  5. Proceed with the Creative Suite product installation.

Solution 7: (CS4) Unregister and then reregister Windows Installer.

  1. Choose Start > Run (Windows XP) or Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run (Windows Vista).
  2. In the Open box, type msiexec /unreg and then press Enter.
  3. Choose Start > Run (Windows XP) or Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run (Windows Vista).
  4. In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver and then press Enter.

The source files referenced in the error message are unavailable. The missing files are identified after the “Source file not found” text. For example, “Source file not found: E:Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Premium Disk 1data1.cab” indicates that the Creative Suite 4 Web Premium Disk1 isn't in the E drive.

Note: The missing source file can also be data11.cab. For some CS4 applications, the missing file can be WinBootstrapper1.cab; in this case, a WinBootstrapper.msi file is also present.

I got following error while installing JDK 1.7 on windows 8.

'Error 1335. The cabinet file 'st170510.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.'

I have downloaded latest version of JDK from oracle foundation. previously JDK 1.6 was installed on my pc. I uninstalled it and tried to install this version and met this error.

For further information, I have already installed JRE 1.7 on my system.

I think it has something to do with Windows 'unblock' feature. (Rich click on file, select 'unblock')

We had this issue before when we downloaded a Zip file, extracted an installed, and ran it - it failed - we had to unblock the file first - we also noticed that extracted elements were also 'blocked' as well.

Java Install >>- On downloading using windows, file transfer speed was fast until the very end. then it seemed to stall.Any attempt to install from these files produced errors and a fail.

Fix >>- I then downloaded it using a MAC and then transferred the files back to the windows box and did the install again.

This time it was perfect - no errors - good install.

Error 1335 Windows 10 Download

I was installing Oracle Java 8 JDK (version 111) on a Windows 10 machine. I got the same error as described in the question.

I disabled windows defender (all checkboxes to off), downloaded the file, went to its properties clicked unblock and apply. Then the JDK installed fine.

I had the same problem. After reading all the answers, I concluded that the downloaded .exe file was getting corrupt each time I download. Initially I used Internet Edge for the download (like 5 times) and I had the problem every time. The problem got solved when I switched to chrome browser, downloaded and installed again.

1335 Error Repair

I faced the same problem, but with 1.8 on windows 7 (tried with jdk8u91 and jdk8u92). None of the other solutions here worked, but unchecking the 'source code' and 'public jre' options caused the error to not occur. Not a complete solution if you need the source code - the jre is available separately anyway - but it got me through the installer, and the jdk seems functional.

When you meet this problem ,you compare the two files with WinMD5Free after downloading them.At first I used chrome and IDM to download the JDK files and always met with an error although I changed other versions many times.

Hence I use Firefox download the JDK file and problems are resolved.

OS: Windows 10 Pro
Java: 10.0.1

When trying to run the JDK installer from the 'Downloads' folder I kept running into the same error (only different .cab file). I tried running as admin, different compatibility mode, scanning with the Windows scanner. Nothing helped.

Then I just downloaded to Desktop. I ran it as Administrator and Java installed without any problem.
